Spider Web Rice Field

The most amazing view over a number of lingko (spider web) rice fields is offered at Cara Village situated on a small hill 17km west of Ruteng in Cancar. Wake up to the sun coming up over Cancar village and the vast rice fields below. 

  • Trek: Intermediate. About 15 minutes on man made stairs. 
  • Showers: No
  • Toilets: At bottom of hill (plus nature/bush toilet at the top)

Soa Hot Spring

Located in the Soa sub-district, about 23km from Bajawa, Mangeruda Hot Springs offer you the Florinese highlands at their warmest. Enjoy the warm water from the river and the shade of the trees all around you. Wake up to the steam coming off the hot spring and the sun coming through the trees.

  • Showers: Best hot shower on Flores - hot springs

17 Islands

Take a boat trip out to 17 Islands Marine Park to see the Bat Island and stop for snorkeling around the islands. Spend the night on an island to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the area. 

  • Trek: Easy/flat; current is not very strong and good for all swimming levels
  • Showers: Ocean
  • Toilets: Nature (bush toilets)
  • Food: Lunch (Day 1), Dinner (Day 1), and Breakfast (Day 2) will be provided on the islands. Lunch and Dinner will be delicious fish barbecue prepared on the island. Breakfast is bread, pasteries, fresh fruit, coffee/tea. Water will be provided for trip.  

Ruing (Harbor)

Ruing is a fishing village located on the northern coast of the island. Stay on the beach at Rico Cafe located in the harbor in Ruing and enjoy the gateway to 17 Islands Marine Park either before or after your boat trip.

Mbalata Beach

In the middle of Mount Inerie to the east and soft, hilly landscapes to the west you can catch a beautiful view over the sea and surrounding farmland from this spot. Experience the Florinese rural lifestyle and see how farmers work the fields or local men produce moke (arak).

Koka Beach

This beach is the perfect place to go to relax and enjoy the long, white, white-sand beach that contrasts with the tall black rocks at the end. Add the sunset and the photo is beyond Instagram worthy.

  • Food: Restaurant at beach with full menu (fish barbecue)

Wae Cicu Beach

Located just a 15 minute drive from Labuan Bajo city center, you can escape from the noise and enjoy a peaceful night under the stars. Relax on the beach, go kayaking or snorkeling, and sit by the campfire as you look for shooting stars.

Watu Meze (Mount Inerie)

Mount Inerie is the steepest mountain in Flores (2200 m high) and provides stunning views. It is accessible year round for trekking (bring proper shoes and warm clothing). You can camp at the starting Watu Meze, located next to Manu Lalu. A guide is required for the trek due to unmarked path.
